A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bwindi is the best destination in Uganda to track mountain gorillas. The park safeguards approximately 40% of the world’s mountain gorilla population and features several habituated groups.

Uganda is referred to as the “Pearl of Africa” because of its diverse natural endowments and beauty as described by Winston Churchill. The country has a rich cultural diversity, boasting of over 66 tribes, languages and dialects (population census report 2014). According to a UN Report, Uganda is the happiest country in East Africa and
the friendliest country globally as pointed out by results from a BBC survey of expatriates.
Bwindi neighbors the villages of the Batwa and Bakiga tribes, whom you can pay a visit to learn about their culture. You can get a feel of how they live, enjoy their cultural dances (that you can participate in), and take photos with them.
You can also visit the women’s craft center and buy souvenirs for yourself and your loved ones.

Arrival And Transfer To Bwindi National Park
Early morning after breakfast at 7.00 am the driver will pick you from the guesthouse and then leave for the South West of Uganda. The first part takes us through central Uganda.
You will have Lunch in Mbarara at the famous Igongo Culture Centre and from here we will continue the journey through Kabale District passing villages, cultivated farms, hills before you reach in Rushaga Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Check in at Lodge, dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Camp High End Accommodation.
Gorilla Tracking In Bwindi Forest
At 7:45 am You will be at the starting point of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for pre-briefing and at 8:30 you will start the trek. After finding the gorillas you will spend with them a maximum of 1 hour.
We limit time to 1 Hour because we don't want to over-disturb them in their natural habitats and also to prevent gorilla babies from initiating games which maybe difficult to manage.
You'll enjoy great photo moments and luckily, Gorillas may Touch you especially your hair to appreciate you! You will then hike back to the start point. Some days Tracking can take up to 9 Hours or Some days You may fail to see them since they keep Moving.
In that a case we reschedule Tracking the next day and if time is a Problem, We refund Half of the Price Paid for Gorilla Permit. However, as Weitz Safaris, we guarantee 100% a Must See for our Guests.
After you're back to your Lodge, You will then visit the Batwa Community for welcoming and amazing cultural Dances.
Transfer Back To Entebbe
After breakfast, the last part of the journey will bring us back to Kampala. We will stop in Mbarara for Lunch and then continue.
After Masaka town we will stop at the Equator for Tea/Coffee break and for those that would like to buy souvenirs. We will bring you back to the Hotel of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe for overnight.
If you are continuing your journey somewhere else or back home, we will bring you to the airport for check in after refreshing from our guesthouse.

Bwindi Impenetrable Scenery
Bwindi is an unspoiled rainforest on the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley — featuring a landscape of ridges and valleys covered in dense, impenetrable forest and is home to 10 tree species found nowhere else in this region.
Bwindi Wildlife
In addition to the endangered mountain gorillas, the forest is home to nine other primate species, including Chimpanzees, olive baboons, black-and-white colobus and L’Hoest’s monkeys. The park also boasts an impressive checklist of butterflies.
Bwindi Weather and Climate
Rain is a constant presence at Bwindi, with the heaviest downpours occurring from March to May and October to November. Be sure to pack plenty of wet-weather gear to handle the drizzle.
The forest’s mild climate is more enjoyable during the drier months from June to August and December to February
Best Time to Visit Bwindi impenetrable
Tracking mountain gorillas is best when Bwindi’s trails are less muddy and there is more sunshine, typically from June to August and December to February. During the wetter months, slippery trails and occasional mist make wildlife watching more challenging.
